Would you like to build your fly fishing skills? Consider finding a class or workshop in your area that can help. A search on the internet will usually result in several resources for you to learn what equipment is best for you, opportunities to go fishing with some experienced fly anglers, and the opportunity to join a local fly fishing organization.

Rec 101
This is a series of intro-to format classes taught by DNR staff or expert volunteers. These volunteers offer their time and knowledge at no charge to the DNR or the participants. Several state parks/recreation areas throughout the state have Fly Fishing 101 classes. Visit www.michigan.gov/rec101 to see if any are being offered.
