Why the Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center?

    Natural. Tranquil. Inspiring.

Students learning outside at RAM Center

Originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center (RAM Center) allows groups to get away from modern distractions and focus on the tasks at hand. Whether those tasks are educational, team building, training, retreats or brainstorming, the RAM Center is the ideal environment for your organization.

    The Atmosphere
Located where water and woods meet in stillness and harmony, the RAM Center promotes appreciation of Michigan's natural, cultural and historic heritage. Surrounded by nature, your team can learn and grow, finding inspiration for creativity and problem-solving.

Warm pine walls, cedar furniture, vaulted cathedral ceilings and massive stone fireplaces give the RAM Center beautiful rustic décor and make for the perfect "up-north" experience.

Located on beautiful Higgins Lake, the RAM Center is surrounded by Michigan's abundant natural resources. Whether it's canoeing, cross-country skiing, swimming, hiking or fishing, it's all available to enjoy when the work is over for the day.

The RAM Center has won the "Green Lodging Michigan Steward" award for its progressive environmental stance.

    Team Building
Guests having campfire at RAM CenterUnplug yourself from modern distractions and reconnect with your fellow team members. The RAM Center provides the perfect environment for finding inspiration, creativity and problem-solving during meetings and after. The great room with fireplace and rustic furniture invite team members to share after hours' time together, fostering further collaboration and team building.

    The Service
The RAM Center has long been praised for its exceptional service and customer-friendly attitude. The dedicated staff takes pride in going beyond what is expected in helping guests with special needs, diet requirements or resolving unexpected problems for those who are away from home or office. Groups are eager to return year after year, but don't take our word for it.

"Thank you for all your help making our retreat a huge success. It went very smoothly and we have received many positive comments about the two-day retreat. Some are saying it was the best retreat in a long time. We really appreciate all your help."    Executive Director, ETOM

"Thank you so much for your hospitality during our stay this past weekend. Our event was a great success and I really want to extend my gratitude for your flexibility and accommodation. The great facility and friendly staff are a huge selling point for us, and I hope that our group will be able to come up to Roscommon for many years to come."    President, MSU Supply Chain Mgt. Assoc

    The Food
The RAM Center's menu features a variety of home-style meals that feature fresh baked breads and rolls, savory selections of entrees, and home made desserts served family style.  Summer cookouts along the shore of Northern Michigan's most beautiful lake are legendary. Listen to the waves gently lapping the shoreline as you enjoy a steak hot off the grill. Adept at catering to a variety of dietary needs, kitchen staff is flexible and eager to please all palates.
