    Craig Lake Yurt

Craig Lake State Park, Yurt Exterior

If you are interested in a remote vacation on your own lake, this is the place! The dense forest and secluded location of Teddy Lake create an excellent habitat for nesting loons, osprey, eagles and moose.

The rental fee is $60 per night and there is an $8 reservation fee. For reservations call 1-800-44-PARKS or online at: www.michigan.gov/craiglake.

Yurts are sturdy, tent-like structures which offer a new adventure in camping. The 16-foot-diameter yurt will sleep four people and is equipped with bunk beds, mattresses, a wood stove, axe, bow saw, and cooking and eating utensils. Running water and electricity are not provided, but an outhouse is located nearby.

    Craig Lake State Park, Fishing

The cabin is available for rent from May 1 to October 31.

    For additional information, contact Van Riper State Park at (906) 339-4461, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
