    Tippy Dam Recreation Area

Tippy Dam The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Parks & Recreation Division (PRD) is in the process of developing a General Management Plan for Tippy Dam Recreation Area. The DNR uses General Management Plans to define a long-range planning and management strategy that protects the resources of the site while addressing recreation needs and opportunities. A key aspect of the planning process is the development of a Management Zone Plan, which reflects the resource protection goals and recreation development opportunities for different areas within each park. Management Zones are developed based upon input from DNR staff representing a wide range of expertise.

The development of General Management Plans begins with the assembly of a Planning Team representing various specialties within the DNR. Once the Planning Team has studied the park, stakeholders and the public will be invited to meetings to learn more about the process, understand the findings of the team, and to provide input. Check the public input tab below to learn more about the opportunities for public comment.

Public input is an integral part of the planning process and includes the following opportunities:

    • A public input survey has been completed and the analysis of the results will be posted soon.
    • A public meeting will be held later in the fall/winter 2013. Check back for details.
    • The complete Draft Management Plan will be available for review and comment prior to the public meeting.

Press Releases are used to inform the public of any opportunities to provide input on our park management plans. Click here to subscribe to email notifications from the Department of Natural Resources.
