    Waterloo Recreation Area--The History of Waterloo on Horseback

    Location: Waterloo Recreation Area, 16345 McClure Road, Chelsea, MI, 48118

    True to its name, Waterloo holds the mystery, battles and ruins of many a cowboy and Indian tale, from quicksand to the Great Baldwin Flood, the rise and success of the early settler to the fall and failure of small town commerce, and many more. Learn where Murder Mountain is located and all about the Fall of the Stockade from one of our local historians, as well as other interesting historical tidbits entrenched in the recreation area.

    History Rides will take place on the last Saturday of the month June through October, with the location and history lesson different each time. Cost of the ride will be at least $45, depending on the location and duration, and a waiver will be required. Contact the stables at 734-637-4457 to make your reservation.
