Ortonville Recreation Area--Competitive Mounted OrienteeringDate: May 18, 2013 Time: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM Location: Ortonville Recreation Area, 5779 Hadley Road, Ortonville, MI, 48462
Ortonville Recreation Equestrian Association will be hosting this competition in which mounted riders use a compass and map to find hidden objectives. Similar to a scavenger hunt, teams of one to six people on horseback search for paper plates hidden along the trail. Compasses are available at the event for loan or purchase. Starting times run from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Entry fee of $15 per day for the ride. All vehicles entering the park must have a Recreation Passport. Potluck dinner on Saturday at 5 p.m., bring a dish to pass. For more details search for the OREA Hadley-Hills Facebook page or call the park at 810-797-4439.
