Campground decorations with a spooky town, ghosts and gravestones.

Hayes Haunting is a safe, fun-filled camping weekend. A different theme is picked each year and events are planned around that theme. Events include pumpkin decorating, various games for every age, campsite decorating, costume parade and trick-or-treating. There is an extreme scavenger race for the teens, pumpkin-hunting for the little kids, carnival games for everyone! Two of the favorites are the donut-eating contest and the original Halloween Egg-Toss, for every age group, even the adults!

Campers and their guests only; age groups are used for each event; campers should bring their own pumpkins and decorating supplies. Staff will post details to W.J. Hayes Facebook page and will also e-mail the schedule to registered campers prior to the event. For more information please call the park.

Please Note: The Michigan Department of Natural Resources makes every effort to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information on the web calendar. However, dates occasionally change and events may be canceled for any reason. Please call the unit hosting the event to confirm dates and times prior to your arrival.

A Recreation Passport is required for entry into all Michigan state parks and recreation areas. Check "YES" when you renew your license plate at the Secretary of State.
