    Water Conservation

The purpose of this pilot is to demonstrate the reduction in water use, waste production and budgetary spending which can be achieved through the installation of various water saving technologies in a RD facility. The information gained will then be made available to other RD facilities as well as other State and Local Agencies.

    EXPECTED BENEFITS
The benefits of installing multiple water saving technologies throughout a facility will be demonstrated by the reduction in water usage and sewage output. This reduction will directly relate to a cost savings in utilities. The greatest savings and demonstration of these benefits will be exemplified by conducting this pilot at a location that is tied to a municipal water and sewage system, due to the measurable costs associated with municipal systems. Additionally, by quantifying the savings and benefits of these types of conversions, the GIT and RD can determine and develop Best Management Practices associated with these types of fixtures and technologies in an effort to achieve additional savings throughout RD facilities.
