On April 6, 1917, the United States declared war on Germany, entering the First World War. Military units from Michigan, including the Red Arrow Division and the Polar Bears, gained fame for their service, while Michigan women served in support roles overseas and helped create the first "Arsenal of Democracy" at home. In the Michigan's Battle Flags Room, first floor.
