How to Get Equipment

  1. You must be a certified fire department, registered with the State Fire Marshall and have a federal identification number.
  2. You must have a Cooperative Mutual Aid Fire Control Agreement on file with the DNR. If you are not sure that you have a Cooperative Mutual Aid Fire Control Agreement on file with us, click here to check our mutual aid agreement list.
  3. Contact the local DNR fire supervisor to discuss equipment needs and availability. Click here for Fire Officer Contact Information.
  4. Fill out the Request for Federal Excess Property form, which details the equipment needs you discussed with your local DNR fire supervisor, and mail them a copy.
