Notifying the DNR of Title Transfers
A 2013 amendment to the Commercial Forest (CF) statute, made it the responsibility of the County Equalization Office to notify the MDNR of title transfers on CF land.
Within 30 days of being notified of a transfer of title, the Equalization Office should notify the DNR in writing of the change.
Notification can be in the form of a copy of the recorded deed or parcel record or other document that includes:
- the new owner’s name
- the new owner’s address
- the legal description(s) of the CF land that was transferred to the new owner
Notification can be provided via any of the following means:
