Urban and Community Forestry Council

Street sceneThe Michigan Urban and Community Forestry Council (MUCFC) is a volunteer organization that works to advance the conservation and maintenance of urban forests throughout Michigan. The Council provides assistance and advice to the state urban and community forestry program, administered by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DNR). We work in partnership with all sectors to address local urban forestry issues by bringing together professionals, academics, government, industry, volunteers and the general public.

• VisionEvery person in Michigan will assume responsibility to work towards ensuring that the trees and forests, where people live, work and play are healthy, sustainable and diverse.

• MissionThe Michigan Urban and Community Forestry Council (MUCFC) shall promote, recognize and support effective and sustainable urban and community forestry throughout the state.
