Recognizing Teacher Excellence
Through the Odyssey Awards, the Michigan Historical Center and the Michigan History Foundation recognize teachers' efforts in inspiring students' interest in Michigan history. Established in 2000, the annual awards honor two outstanding Michigan History educators from across the state.
Nomination Deadline: December 1, 2013
Eligibility:Any Michigan K-12 educator may be nominated. Nominees will be judged on depth of knowledge of Michigan history, leadership in teaching others about Michigan history and use of creative teaching methods.
Award:Recipients receive a gift of $1,000; a commemorative plaque; and an annual family pass to the Michigan Historical Museum.
