Location

Hartwick Pines Logging Museum is located in Hartwick Pines State Park, eight miles northeast of Grayling on M-93. From I-75, take exit 259.

Admission

Admission to the logging museum is free. A Michigan State Parks Recreation Passport is required for entry to the park.

2012 Season Dates and Hours

The Hartwick Pines Logging Museum is open daily from May 1 through October 31.

May 1 through May 25: Daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

May 26 through September 3: Daily, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

September 4 through October 31: Daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

How Much Time?

Please allow two hours to tour the museum exhibits and forest trail. The park also offers camping, picnicking, biking and other seasonal activities.

Group and school tours are available. See a map of the site.

Pets: Pets accompanied by and under the control of their human friends are welcomed on the grounds of this site. Pets may not enter any building. For further information, please refer to the DNRE web page, Pets in State Park Campgrounds.

Accessibility

The visitor center and logging museum are accessible to people with a mobility impairment. The Old-Growth Forest Trail is paved but includes two steep grades. A wheelchair may be borrowed, subject to availability.
