19th Annual Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival

Date:  October 09, 2014  -  October 12, 2014
Time:  All Day Event
Location: Tawas Point Lighthouse, East Tawas

With more than 120 lighthouses along Michigan's shoreline, these beautiful beacons are easily one of the state's most identifiable icons. We're proud to have our lighthouse tours included in the Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival.

  • From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, take a tour of the Tawas Point Lighthouse for only $2 per person.

  • The tour includes a once-a-year opportunity for the public to see the lightkeeper's quarters. Plus, you'll learn about our popular lightkeeper program.

This event is free of charge, although a Michigan State Parks Recreation Passport is required for park entry. For more information, please send us an e-mail or telephone (989) 362-5658.

Tawas Point Lighthouse—part of the Michigan Historical Museum System—is located 2.5 miles southeast of East Tawas, in Tawas Point State Park; a Michigan State Parks Recreation Passport is required for park entry. Here's more information about how to find Tawas Point Lighthouse.

We invite you to explore our online calendar, where you'll find all Michigan Historical Museum System Lower Peninsula events.
