Studying the States

Dear Michigan Historical Center,

We are studying the states in school this year. Please send me everything you've got about Michigan.

Thank you,
A. Student

The Michigan Historical Center provides information about the state's history.

You will find historical information throughout the Michigan Historical Center web site; the Michigan Facts & History area and the Collections area (look in the column at left) may be of particular interest to you. You may use these web pages for your school reports.

When you study about Michigan, use a good encyclopedia and do research at your school or public library or on our web site. Write us a letter or send an e-mail only if you have a specific question about Michigan that cannot be answered by doing your own research. We will give each question serious consideration. Give us time to find the answer and get back to you. If you need to finish your report tonight or tomorrow, we may not be able to help.

To locate information about Michigan from other departments and agencies, click on "State Web Sites" on the Michigan.gov home page.

Contact the Michigan Historical Center.
