Michigan Historical Museum, Lansing
(See museum hours or admission FAQ.)
For one week in 1956, a sea of green washed over the Highland State Recreation Area5,000 girls and 1,000 women had come from across the United States to southeast Michigan for the first-ever Girl Scouts national round-up. It's just one of the places where Girl Scout history and Michigan history meet.
As Girl Scouts USA celebrates its first 100 years, the Michigan Historical Museum and Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan have teamed up to present Follow the Girls!, a special exhibit filled with the personal stories and artifacts of Girl Scouts past and present. From cookies to camping, from friendships to awards, from service projects to international travel, you'll see the entire Girl Scout experience.
You can see all the Follow the Girls! events and activities listed in a single location or check out our entire calendar of events. Visit the Michigan Historical Museum on Facebook for upcoming artifact and exhibit photos.
