Dam Management Grants

• Dam Management Grant Program (DMGP)image of a failing damn prior to being removedThe purpose of the DMGP is to provide funding and technical assistance to local and state units of government, non-profit groups and individuals to manage dam removal, repair and major maintenance projects that will enhance aquatic resources and fishing opportunities along with reducing infrastructure costs and improving public safety in Michigan.

A total of $2.35 million will be available in October of 2012 from the State of Michigan General Fund. The program will continue to operate each year that the state legislature appropriates funding.
