Michigan Forest Finance Authority
• Michigan Forest Finance Authority (MFFA)The Michigan Forest Finance Authority (Authority) is an independent finance authority created within the Department of Natural Resources. This nine member board was created to finance forest management investments on the State Forest's most productive sites by issuing direct revenue bonds to be repaid by future revenues from timber sales. Board members range from loggers to environmental protection advocates and the directors of three state departments. The Authority's activities are designed to improve forest management, protect forest resources, create jobs, and promote local and state economic activity.
