For the purposes of the UP Citizens Advisory Council the Upper Peninsula is divided along the easternMarquette and northern and eastern Delta County lines.
• UP Citizens' Advisory Councils CharterA natural outgrowth of our ecosystem-based management is to more fully involve citizens and sportsmen and sportswomen in providing input into the Department's decision making processes.
• Nomination FormNominations are accepted for interested citizens to sit on the council at any time. The nomination form should be filled out in full and returned to the address on the form. Qualified and interested citizens should apply.
• About the CouncilsFor some time, we have been managing our natural resources using an ecosystem approach, which integrates biological, social and economic factors. Although significant public involvement, including the formation of work groups, has paralleled this process with good results, there is an opportunity to establish citizens' advisory councils in the Upper Peninsula to assist the Department on broad-based decision making.
