Kalamazoo River Hunting Advisory
The Unified Command at the Kalamazoo River oil spill is asking waterfowl hunters to please avoid the affected stretch of the river from Interstate 69 west to the west side of Morrow Lake. Cleanup operations on the river are ongoing and around the clock. Upwards of 1,500 workers are out every day working on the cleanup operation, and for the sake of worker safety, hunters are asked to avoid this area. Hunting prospects are likely diminished anyway due to the around the clock work schedule and the use of heavy machinery and large trucks around the area. For alternative places to hunt, go to www.michigan.gov/hunting and click on Where Can I Hunt? on the left side of the page.

Please Continue Reporting Oiled Wildlife - 800-306-6837
We still greatly need assistance from the public in locating wildlife, especially geese, affected by the oil spill. If you see oiled wildlife, please do not assume that we already know about it; please report it to 800-306-6837.
