  1. Insert the blank CD-R (onetime write-able) or CD-RW (Re write-able) into the drive. A screen might automatically popup recognizing that blank media is in the drive. Close this screen by clicking Close or Exit. Now double click on the Direct CD Wizard icon shown below.

  1. The following screen will appear. Choose Next.

  1. Click Next on the screen shown below.

  1. Click Next. **NOTE If the window below does not appear, but instead is titled Scan Disk or something similar, insert a new disk and retry these directions.

  1. Name the disk so its content can be identified later. Click Finish to begin formatting the CD.

  1. The following will appear as the disk is being formatted.

  1. Upon successfully formatting, this screen will appear.

  1. Click OK, The Direct CD Wizard icon has now changed to the icon below to indicate the CD has been formatted and is waiting to be written to.

  1. You may now go back to the QVF and save files directly to the CD. When you are finished, press the Eject button on the CD Rom Drive. The screen below will appear; choose to ‘Organize the disc so it can be read in most standard CD-ROM drives under Windows…..’ then click finish.

 

  1. The drive will open. Remove the disk, and then click OK.
