MEFT #16 - October 2010 – Appliance Rebate Program
Since February 2010, Michigan's appliance rebate program has encouraged Michigan residents to replace older, less efficient appliances by providing rebates for new appliances that exceed energy star standards.
On this edition of Michigan's Energy Future Today, guests discuss the Michigan Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate program and how replacing old appliances with new energy efficient ones can save consumers about one-third on their energy bills as well as help to protect the environment.

MEFT #14 - July 2010 – Wind Turbines
Harnessing energy from the wind is a large part of Michigan’s plan for a clean energy future. This edition of Michigan’s Energy Future Today travels to Stony Corners Wind Farm to receive a cutting edge glimpse of the large scale, multi mega-watt wind turbines being installed near Cadillac, Michigan.
MEFT also visits Merrill Technologies Group to learn Merrill’s role in manufacturing turbines, and their commitment to renewable energy and creating new jobs in the sector.

Waste to Energy
Energy can be derived from many sources including wind, water, sun, organic materials and even waste. This edition of Michigan’s Energy Future Today explores the state’s emerging technologies which make use of solid waste, woody products, plants and even turkey litter as a source for generating energy.
MEFT travels to Heat Transfer International in Kentwood a company that specializes in gasification, producing electric power and steam from waste.

MEFT #12 - April 2010 – Home Energy Retrofits
Performing an energy retrofit on an older home can save 20 to 30 percent on energy bills. This edition of Michigan’s Energy Future Today explores the latest in green building techniques and retrofit homes taking place in Grand Rapids.
MEFT also goes on location to Grand Rapids to tour some formerly foreclosed and abandoned homes which Habitat for Humanity of Kent County is transitioning into green homes.
