FREE ONSITE CONSULTATION SERVICE FOR EMPLOYEES To help employees better understand and voluntarily comply with the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Act (MIOSHA), free ONSITE CONSULTATION programs are available to help small employers identify and correct potential safety and health hazards.

ASSISTANCE IN MEETING MIOSHA REGULATIONS The ONSITE program provides: • SAFETY AND HEALTH WALK-THROUGH SURVEYS: At your request, a safety or health specialist will visit your business to explain our program. If you agree to participate, hazards and violations will be identified during a walk-through at your place of business. This walk-through is identical to a regular MIOSHA enforcement inspection, EXCEPT NO CITATIONS OR PENALTIES WILL BE ISSUED. • ABATEMENT ADVICE: Any hazards or violations which may cause death or serious harm to your employees will be discussed during the walkthrough. A written report of the findings will be presented including specific advice for eliminating existing and potential safety or health hazards. • TRAINING AND PLANNING: In addition, a safety or health plan will be developed from the written report. This plan may include referral services on employee training designed to correct violations or hazards. ADDITIONAL MIOSHA EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROGRAMS Onsite Consultation is just part of a complete series of programs to help improve safety practices. Safety and health training consultants can provide technical assistance, training in the use if personal protective equipment, help interpret standards and provide a multitude of other training services. NO COST TO YOU The Onsite Consultation Program is state and federally funded…these services are offered at no cost to you. NO PENALTY The Onsite survey is conducted without citations or penalties. However, before a survey you must agree to correct all violations considered serious. Verification of such corrections is required within a reasonable time.
