How many doses are necessary?

Seasonal
Children 6 months through 8 years old will need 2 doses of seasonal flu vaccine if they are receiving it for the first time OR they received the vaccine for the first time last flu season and only received 1 dose.  The CDC recommends that individuals 9 years and older receive 1 dose each year. Contact your health care provider or local health department for more information.

2009 H1N1
Children 6 months through 9 years old will need 2 doses of the 2009 H1N1 flu vaccine. These 2 doses should be separated by 4 weeks. Individuals 10 years and older will need just 1 dose.
