The Michigan Guaranty Agency (MGA) provides the following reports to assist schools in conducting exit interviews, tipping off deliquent borrowers before its too late, and notifying borrowers of their debt load during the first year of college.
Borrower Debt Management Information MGA provides an individual statement for each student borrower who is scheduled to graduate from your institution within the next 90 days. These statements are designed to assist schools in conducting exit interviews.
Cohort Year Repayment Report This report allows schools to get an early start on reviewing borrowers who may be included in the official Cohort Default Rate calculation performed by the U.S. Department of Education. The report also allows schools the opportunity to make corrections, contact borrowers, and update any erroneous information early in the process.
Delinquent Borrower by School Report When a borrower becomes 60 days delinquent on his or her student loan payment, the lender or lender servicer is required to submit to the guarantor a Default Aversion Request (DAR) to obtain default aversion assistance. This DAR triggers the borrower's name to appear on the school's Delinquent Borrower by School Report.
The report also includes information regarding those borrowers who were previously listed on your report and whose accounts now are resolved. An account will be resolved either satisfactorily or unsatisfactorily. A satisfactory resolution indicates the borrower has brought his or her loan(s) current. An unsatisfactory resolution indicates either that the borrower's account has gone into default and the default claim has been purchased by the guarantor, or that the account is in a status that would require ceasing diligent collection activities (i.e., bankruptcy, death, disability, or school closure). This report can be generated in several different formats (comma delimited, Excel, etc.) for your convenience.
High Debt Load Report The High Debt Load Report can be generated by MGA for any school that would like a list of students who have exceptionally high debt loads as defined by the school. This report will include the name of the borrower, the borrower’s current address, and the amount borrowed through MGA. This report can be generated in several different formats (comma delimited, Excel, etc.) for your convenience.
Student Loan Debt Summary Report The Student Loan Debt Summary Report can be generated by MGA for any school that would like a list of all students and their cumulative student loan debt guaranteed by MGA, for a given academic year. Some schools may prefer to send this to students after their second year while other schools may prefer to send this during a student's third year. For that reason, MGA can generate the Student Loan Debt Summary Report for any academic year the school chooses. It can also be generated in several different formats (comma delimited, Excel, etc.) for your convenience.
MGA staff is available to assist you with any mail merge, data manipulation, or other special arrangements or customization that you may require.
