Animal Movement Between States (Interstate)

The interstate (between states) movement of animals is regulated by individual states. Each state has the right to establish specific requirements for any domestic or wild animal transported into that state. In general, these requirements do not pertain to animals passing through a state en route to another state. Prior to the interstate transportation of animals, it is prudent to check with the state veterinarian of the state of destination to determine what specific requirements must be met. Listed below is contact information for state veterinarians in the United States.
