Amish woman swept curtain aside in kitchen, bat was in curtain and attached to her finger. She "flung" her hand and shook the bat free. Bat was captured and placed on ice until shipped for testing. Patient receiving
P.E.P. No pets in household. No known or presumed livestock exposure.

20yo Shetland Pony, no vaccination history. Some known contact (~2600 students over past 30 days, 12 considered appropriate for
P.E.P.). Typed as skunk strain, no known exposure. 3 other equine in pasture with rabid pony - vaccinated, placed under quarantine and confined and activity restricted for 45 days.
Seven other equine with fence line contact - vaccinated and 45 day observation, no quarantine or restrictions. 1 sheep with contact - vaccinated, no quarantine. Goats with contact - no vaccine available, isolated for 45 days. Dogs and cats with contact - no history of
ecposure, vaccinated/boosted. |
