Energy-Intensive Industrial Rates Workgroup
As part of Governor Snyder's vision for a "no regrets" energy policy for Michigan's future that he announced in December 2013, the Governor recognized the importance of our energy-intensive industries in Michigan. The Governor wants to ensure that energy-intensive industries can choose Michigan for job and investment decisions to better compete. As a result, the Governor's office asked for a workgroup to be formed that is led by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to brainstorm ideas to reduce energy rates for these types of companies utilizing our existing policies.
An information session was held at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 24, Hearing Room One at the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC), Lansing to discuss the workgroup scope and process for selecting members.
