Interlochen Arts Camp Video Internship
The video intern will capture a wide variety of informal videos in many interesting and challenging situations. In this role, the video intern will work closely with the marketing department to become familiar with the department's video efforts, which are primarily web-based. The video intern will obtain high quality footage and work with video editing software to create and post videos online. The intern may also be asked to assist professional videographers who visit camp. Responsibilities also include: scheduling, logistics, managing equipment/supplies, working with the marketing staff to identify video opportunities and assisting visiting professional videographers. The intern will also be expected to develop an effective cataloging system so that footage can be used in future promotional videos. A 40-hour work week is expected, with some occasional evening/weekend work. The position may require up to several hours of walking each day, often carrying camera equipment. The video intern should be proficient with video production and editing. The intern must be able to skillfully operate a professional digital video camera and work with editing software on a Mac. Final Cut experience is required. All necessary equipment will be supplied. Applicants must have very strong organizational skills. The video intern is expected to be a self-starter who can maintain a positive and productive attitude in all types of working conditions.
