Data Asset Technician Workshop

Fletcher Camera has enlisted the expertise of MacProfessionalsand industry consultant Gary Adcock to create the necessary tools for data-based cameras such as RED.

The production community needs qualified Data Asset Technicians in both Illinois and Michigan. With tapeless cameras rapidly replacing their antiquated predecessors, there is an urgent need to build a pool of talented, reliable technicians.

Fletcher & MacProfessionals will be offering DAT Workshops in Chicago and Detroit. Megan Donnelly, Fletcher Chicago and Stephen Early, Fletcher Detroit, will lead the instruction assisted by Jon Rutherford , MacProfessionals.

Students will learn:

  • how to safely and securely Transfer on-set cards and drives to a post-production ready medium (with and without a DMS system)

  • how to confidently Back-Up your data to an Archive format (LTO) to secure your valuable asset

  • How to create on-set Dailies using Fletcher's DMS system for iPhones™, DVD, or the web.

  • Set Etiquette for Data Asset Technicians

  • which key third-party programs should be loaded on your production laptop.

  • Basic P2 Mobile Operation

  •  Data Asset Management for
    - Sony SxS  - Panasonic P2 - RED Cards and Drives
