See the Incentive Info page. Where's the film crew? The lion's share of the crew is in Southeastern Michigan, or metropolitan Detroit. You can also find a good crew base in Grand Rapids and Lansing. Detroit-tell me about it. It's an industrial city with a wonderful riverfront location, a very progressive mayor and literally daily improvements in both the neighborhoods and the city center. It has great green space, a good skyline, some terrific ethnic areas and stunning industrial vistas. Sound stages: Do you have any? How's 21 sound? How about film labs? Two in the metropolitan Detroit area. Does Michigan have much of a commercial business? We are ranked 4th in the nation, 7th in the world, in commercial billings. Are you union or right-to-work? We're union. Our IATSE and Teamster Locals are highly skilled and very friendly. Bring them a small or big budget - they'll make you an offer that works. What do you have besides big-city looks? How's the weather? Interesting. Michigan gives film production companies some choices.
