30Governor Granholm Urges Action to Prevent Asian Carp from Entering Great Lakes Governor Granholm urged the White House Council on Environmental Quality to coordinate all available federal resources to prevent Asian carp from entering the Great Lakes following the discovery last week of a live carp beyond an electrical barrier and recent reports that Asian carp are spawning in the Wabash River in Indiana.
30Granholm Says State Faces $560 Million Budget Shortfall Without FMAP Extension Governor Granholm said that if Congress fails to appropriate funds to extend federal Medicaid assistance, Michigan will have to make yet another round of deep budget cuts to erase a $560 million shortfall in the state budget for the 2011 fiscal year.
