American Seating Park in Grand Rapids cited as "brilliant urban success story"

I am proud to share with you news of “one of Michigan’s most brilliant urban success stories”—American Seating Park. The Center for Brownfields Initiatives at the University of New Orleans selected American Seating Park in Grand Rapids to be showcased on its Web site this month as its "Featured Site".

American Seating Park is the former site of the American Seating Company's manufacturing operations which relocated in 1999. For nearly 100 years, American Seating produced office, stadium, transportation and event seating products in that location. The company's owner and CEO had a fondness for the area that led to American Seating teaming up with Pioneer Construction Company to transform the site into a multi-use complex designed to revitalize the community.
