Granholm Appoints Beebe Judge of 4th Circuit Court

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Susan Beebe as judge of the 4th Circuit Court, which serves Jackson County, for a term expiring January 1, 2009.  She replaces Judge Edward Grant who has resigned.
 
Beebe, of Jackson, most recently served as assistant prosecuting attorney in Jackson County, where she specialized in domestic violence, and abuse and neglect cases in addition to generalized circuit, district, and recovery court work.  She was also active in efforts in Jackson County to establish a mental health court and was recently selected as part of Jackson County's delegation to view an operating mental health court in Akron, Ohio.
           
Beebe graduated cum laude from the Michigan State University College of Law, received her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, and graduated from East Jackson High School.  
           
This appointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
