Whereas, Responsible and resourceful management practices are key ingredients
in the successful operation of Michigan’s government, business and industry;
and,
Whereas, The National Management Association, with over 22,000 members nationwide,
advocates sound management practices and is devoted to the success of our free
enterprise system through the important contributions of its members’
talents and energies to ensure the smooth operation of business; and,
Whereas, Michigan is proud to have four chapters of the National Management
Association with nearly 1,300 members statewide who significantly contribute
to the improvement of management and the promotion of business in our Great
Lakes State; and,
Whereas, This year marks the 26th Annual Management Week in the United States,
highlighting the development and recognition of management as a profession and
the promotion of our American competitive enterprise system; and now therefore
be it,
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan,
do hereby proclaim the week of June 7, 2004, as Management Week in Michigan.
