LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR’S CHILDREN’S COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Section 1 of Article V of the Michigan Constitution of 1963 vests
the executive power of the State of Michigan in the Governor;
WHEREAS, the Lieutenant Governor’s Children’s Commission was established
within the Executive Office of the Governor on May 23, 1995, was charged reporting
its findings and recommendations to the Governor by July 1, 1996, and has completed
the work for which it was created;
WHEREAS, it is necessary in the interests of efficient and effective government
to abolish the Lieutenant Governor’s Children’s Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan,
by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the Michigan Constitution
of 1963 and Michigan law, order the following:
A. The Lieutenant Governor’s Children’s Commission created within
the Executive Office of the Governor under Executive Order 1995-12 is abolished.
B. Executive Order 1995-12 is rescinded it its entirety.
This Order is effective upon filing.
