LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent appointment and reappointment to the Correctional Officers’ Training Council:

James D. Farrell of Okemos, director of the Michigan Department of Civil Service. Director Farrell is appointed to represent the state personnel director for a term expiring March 30, 2008.  He succeeds Janet McClelland whose term has expired. 

Barry L. McLemore of Davison, deputy director of administration and programs with the Michigan Department of Corrections.  Mr. McLemore is reappointed to represent the Michigan Department of Corrections for a term expiring March 30, 2008.

The Correctional Officers’ Training Council establishes standards and requirements regarding the training and education of state and local correctional officers.
