LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent designation to the Michigan Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and recent appointments to the Board of Nursing Home Administrators:
Michigan Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
Khan J. Nedd of Grand Rapids, president and CEO of Hospitalist of West Michigan. Mr. Nedd is designated to serve as chairperson for a term expiring at the pleasure of the Governor. He was originally appointed to the committee last February.
The Michigan Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee advises the Department of Community Health on issues affecting prescription drug coverage for the department’s various health care programs.
This designation is not subject to disapproval.
Board of Nursing Home Administrators
Gail J. Clarkson of Bloomfield Hills, vice president and corporate compliance officer for the Medilodge Group. Ms. Clarkson is appointed to represent nursing home administrators for a term expiring December 31, 2008.
Susan E. Pettis of Ann Arbor, director of independent living for the Chelsea Retirement Community. Ms. Pettis is appointed to represent nursing home administrators for a term expiring December 31, 2008. She succeeds Robert W. Goldsmith whose term has expired.
Thomas D. Meyer of East Tawas, administrator of the Iosco County Medical Care Facility. Mr. Meyer is reappointed to represent nursing home administrators for a term expiring December 31, 2009.
The Board of Nursing Home Administrators provides for the licensure of nursing home administrators and provides penalties for violation of the Public Health Code, Public Act 368 of 1978.
These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963. They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
