| Governor Granholm Appoints Herrington Judge of 73B District Court

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of David B. Herrington as judge of the 73B District Court, which serves Huron County, for a term expiring January 1, 2009. He replaces Judge Karl E. Kraus who has resigned.
Herrington, of Port Austin, most recently served as attorney in private practice and attorney for the village of Port Austin. Previously, he served as assistant prosecutor for Huron County, was a member of the Lakeshore Legal Aid board of directors, and as a member of the Bad Axe Public Library board. He is currently a member of the Huron County Community Corrections Commission, and is involved with Huron County schools as mock trial competition coach and high school government class speaker.
Herrington earned his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, and is a graduate of Bad Axe High School.
This appointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
