Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to University Boards

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments and reappointments to Central Michigan University, Ferris State University, Grand Valley State University, Michigan Technological University, Northern Michigan University, and Western Michigan University Boards of Control:

Central Michigan University Board of Control

Marilyn French Hubbard, Ph.D. of Bloomfield, corporate vice president of community partnerships for Henry Ford Health System.  Dr. Hubbard is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  She succeeds James Fabiano whose term has expired.

Sambasiva R. Kottamasu, M.D. of Saginaw, radiologist, Advanced Diagnostic Imaging, P.C.  Dr. Kottamasu is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  He succeeds Melanie Reinhold Foster whose term has expired. 

Ferris State University Board of Control

George J. Menoutes of Flint, retired registered pharmacist.  Mr. Menoutes is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  He succeeds Louis J. Meeuwenberg whose term has expired. 

Ronald E. Snead of Greenville, vice president of corporate relations for Dixien, LLC.  Mr. Snead is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  He succeeds Bruce Parsons whose term has expired. 

Grand Valley State University Board of Control

Noreen K. Myers of Lowell, attorney in private practice.  Ms. Myers is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  She succeeds John Kennedy whose term has expired. 

Kate Pew Wolters of Grand Rapids, president of the Kate and Richard Wolters Foundation.  Ms. Wolters is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  She succeeds Karen Henry Stokes whose term has expired.

Michigan Technological University Board of Control

Martha K. Richardson of Grosse Pointe Park, president of Services Marketing Specialists, Inc.  Ms. Richardson is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  She succeeds Claude Verbal whose term has expired. 

Kathryn I. Clark, Ph.D. of Ann Arbor, president of Docere, LLC..  Dr. Clark is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.
  
Northern Michigan University Board of Control

Brian D. Cloyd of Grand Rapids, director of corporate and community relations for Steelcase, Inc. Mr. Cloyd is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  He succeeds Mary Lincoln Campbell whose term has expired. 

Jon G. LaSalle of Marquette, field representative for the Michigan State Building and Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO.  Mr. LaSalle is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  He succeeds Scott Holman whose term has expired. 

Western Michigan University Board of Control

Dennis W. Archer of Detroit, chairman of Dickinson Wright, PLLC law firm.  Mr. Archer is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  He succeeds Birgit Klohs whose term has expired.

Larry F. Tolbert of Kalamazoo, organizer and secretary of health/pension funds for Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers.  Mr. Tolbert is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 31, 2012.  He succeeds Vernice Anthony whose term has expired. 

These appointments and reappointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
