LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointment to the Commission on Spanish Speaking Affairs:
Benjamin D. Inquilla of Plainwell, managing attorney with Farmworker Legal Services of Michigan. Mr. Inquilla is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 10, 2005. He succeeds Maria Guiterrez-Ostrander who has resigned.
The commission was created by Public Act 164 of 1975 to advise the Governor and legislature on issues concerning Michigan’s Spanish-speaking residents. The commission consists of 15 members who are of Hispanic descent and are Spanish speaking.
This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate
