Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs: 

George A. Bayard, II of Kentwood, owner of The Bayard Gallery of Fine African American Art & Books in Grand Rapids.  Mr. Bayard is appointed for a term expiring September 1, 2007.  He succeeds Elizabeth Brooks whose term has expired. 

Wuanita (Neeta) M. Delaney of Grass Lake, director of The Armory Arts Project in Jackson.  Ms. Delaney is appointed for a term expiring September 1, 2007.  She succeeds Diether Haenicke whose term has expired. 

David O. Egner of Novi, president and CEO of the Hudson-Webber Foundation.  Mr. Egner is appointed for a term expiring September 1, 2007.  He succeeds Maxine DeBruyn whose term has expired. 

Earle (Win) S. Irwin of Grand Rapids, CEO of Irwin Seating Company.  Mr. Irwin is appointed for a term expiring September 1, 2006.  He succeeds Jon L. Stryker who has resigned. 

Nheena Weyer Ittner of Marquette, director of The Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum.  Ms. Ittner is appointed for a term expiring September 1, 2007.  She succeeds Bonnie Holland whose term has expired.

Amanda VanDusen of Pleasant Ridge, principal of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, PLC law firm. Ms. VanDusen is appointed for a term expiring September 1, 2007.  She succeeds Helen Wu whose term has expired. 

The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs serves to encourage, develop and facilitate an enriched environment of artistic, creative and cultural activity in Michigan.
   
These appointments are not subject to disapproval.
