Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Traffic Safety Advisory Commission

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent appointment and reappointment to the Governor’s Traffic Safety Advisory Commission: 

Steven M. Puuri of Dexter, managing director for the Washtenaw County Road Commission.  Mr. Puuri is appointed to represent local units of government for a term expiring May 27, 2006.  He succeeds Edwin Tatem who has resigned. 

David E. Stamm II of Grand Blanc, chief of police of Grand Blanc Township Police Department.  Chief Stamm is reappointed to represent local units of government for a term expiring May 27, 2008. 

The Governor’s Traffic Safety Advisory Commission works to identify traffic safety challenges and develops, promotes, and implements strategies to address those challenges.

These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963.  They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
