Governor Granholm Makes Appointments to Michgan Board of Mechanical Rules

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the Michigan Board of Mechanical Rules: 

Henry E. Bartram of Farmington Hills, president of Diversified Heating and Cooling.  Mr. Bartram is appointed to represent individuals with experience in refrigeration service for a term expiring October 1, 2008.  He succeeds Nicholas W. Seraphinoff whose term has expired.

Joseph G. Connors of Grosse Ile, president of Monroe Plumbing and Heating.  Mr. Connors is appointed to represent individuals with experience in unlimited service heating and refrigeration for a term expiring October 1, 2008.  He succeeds Randall H. Ingraham whose term has expired.

Lawrence H. Hale II of Detroit, president and CEO of Hale Contracting, Inc.  Mr. Hale is appointed to represent individuals with experience in hydronic heating and cooling and process piping for a term expiring October 1, 2007.  He succeeds Robert G. Caraway whose term has expired.

Charles M. Inman of Clarkston, business agent for Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 636.  Mr. Inman is appointed to represent organized labor representing mechanical trades for a term expiring October 1, 2008.  He succeeds William E. Bradfield, Jr. whose term has expired.

Robert K. Jagenberg of Farmington Hills, chief fire protection designer of John E. Green, Inc.  He is appointed to represent individuals with experience in fire suppression for a term expiring October 1, 2008.  He succeeds Kenneth G. Sokolowski whose term has expired.

Mark D. Mangione of Muskegon, assistant business manager for Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 714.  Mr. Mangione is appointed to represent individuals with experience in specialty work areas for a term expiring October 1, 2007.  He succeeds John D. Sedine whose term has expired

Michael E. Ogletree of Detroit, chief mechanical inspector for the city of Detroit.  Mr. Ogletree is appointed to represent chief mechanical inspectors of a government subdivision for a term expiring October 1, 2007.  He succeeds Mark F. Riley whose term has expired. 

Gregory M. Parker of Troy, vice president of Tucker, Young, Jackson, Tull, Inc.  Mr. Parker is appointed to represent registered professional mechanical engineers for a term expiring October 1, 2008.  He succeeds Tomas Moore Rose whose term has expired.

George B. Shields of Lansing, chief mechanical inspector for the city of Lansing.  Mr. Shields is appointed to represent chief mechanical inspectors of a government subdivision for a term expiring October 1, 2007.  He succeeds Gary L. Biddinger whose term has expired.

William P. Steele of Vandalia, owner and operator of Steele's Heating & AC.  Mr. Steele is appointed to represent individuals with experience in limited service heating and refrigeration for a term expiring October 1, 2008.  He succeeds Robert J. Fosburg whose term has expired.  

Christopher J. Stockwell of Frankenmuth, assistant vice president and project manager of U.S. Sheet Metal, Inc.  Mr. Stockwell is appointed to represent individuals with experience in ductwork for a term expiring October 1, 2007.  He succeeds John J. MacGregor whose term has expired. 

The Board of Mechanical Rules was created to make recommendations to the State Construction Code Commission on the promulgation of rules necessary for the safe design, construction, installation, alteration, servicing, and inspection of heating, cooling, ventilating, and refrigerating equipment.   

These appointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963.  They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.
