LANSING - Governor Jennifer M Granholm today issued the following statement on the death of the former first lady:
 
"Lady Bird Johnson's quiet, steady guidance and leadership was a great service to our country.  Her longstanding commitment to civil rights and conservation has had a profoundly positive impact on our nation and on Michigan, and we are deeply appreciative of her work."
