LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following recent appointments and reappointments:

Michigan Board of Nursing

Regina D. Allen of Lansing, project manager for the Social Security Administration, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2011.  She succeeds Sandra M. Larson whose term has expired.

Suzanne M. Bosek of Royal Oak, operations support specialist for DaimlerChrysler, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2010.  She succeeds Myrah L. Kirkwood whose term has expired.

Terese E. Cole of Flint, adjunct faculty of Davenport University, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2010.  She succeeds Lori A. Doyle whose term has expired.

Melynda J. Daley of Marquette, clinic manager and licensed practical nurse for InforEd Clinic, is appointed to represent licensed practical nurses for a term expiring June 30, 2008.  She succeeds Laurice M. Bray who has resigned.

Bruce H. Anderson, Sr. of Interlochen, owner of Misty Meadows Kennell, LLC.,  is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2010.

Margherita P. Clark, R.N., M.S.N. of St. Johns, chairperson of the Nursing Careers Department for Lansing Community College, is reappointed to represent registered professional nurses with master's degrees from accredited colleges with major's in nursing engaged in nursing education in less than a baccalaureate program for a term expiring June 30, 2011.

Anahid Kulwicki, R.N., M.S., PhD of Troy, deputy director of Wayne County Health and Human Services, is reappointed to represent registered professional nurses with master's degrees engaged in nursing education in a baccalaureate or higher program for a term expiring June 30, 2011.

Brenda J. Lewis, L.P.N. of Chase, former L.P.N. charge nurse at the DeBoer Nursing Home, is reappointed to represent licensed practical nurses for a term expiring June 30, 2011.

Linda S. Taft, R.N. of Clinton Township, registered nurse for surgical services of the St. John-North Shores Hospital, is reappointed to represent professional registered nurses without baccalaureate degrees engaged in nursing practice or nursing administration for a term expiring June 30, 2011.

Michelle L. Woods of Jackson, personal trainer at the Jackson Country Club, is reappointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2010.

The Michigan Board of Nursing is responsible for the interpretation of licensure and examination of registered professional nurses, licensed practical nurses, and for the certification of nursing specialists.  The board shall set minimum standards of practice and assess penalties for when those standards are not met and recommend licensure to schools that provide nursing programs.

Board of Acupuncture

Chrystal R. Roach of Fremont, Newago County prosecuting attorney, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring June 30, 2010.

Rhonda S. Sousley, Ph.D. of Rochester Hills, president of Innovative Medicine and acupuncturist for Beaumont Fertility Center, is appointed to represent acupuncturists for a term expiring June 30, 2008.  She succeeds Virginia C. Vary who has resigned.

Arthur L. Kaminsky, M.D. of Marquette, general manager and acupuncturist with Kaminsky Group, LLC, is reappointed to represent acupuncturists for a term expiring June 30, 2011.

Jason T. Pettet, M.O.M. of South Haven, national board certified acupuncturist with Health and Energy, P.C., is reappointed to represent acupuncturists for a term expiring June 30, 2011.

The Michigan Board of Acupuncture, created in 2006, is responsible for promulgating rules that set forth minimum standards for registration as an acupuncturist. 

These appointments and reappointments are subject to Article V, Section 6 of the Michigan State Constitution of 1963.  They stand confirmed unless disapproved by the Senate within 60 days.

Michigan Public Safety Communications System Advisory Board 

Dale R. Gribler of Lawrence, Van Buren County sheriff, is reappointed to represent local emergency first responders for a term expiring April 30, 2011. 

Thomas V. Wibert of East Lansing, chief of the East Lansing Police Department, is reappointed to represent local emergency first responders for a term expiring April 30, 2011.

The Michigan Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS) is Michigan's 800 MHz radio system and telecommunications network that provides statewide interoperability in digital clarity to its members throughout the state.  The MPSCS Advisory Board adopts procedures governing the organization and operations of the MPSCS.

These reappointments are not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
