Governor Granholm Announces Appointment of Michael Hatty to the 44th Judicial Circuit Court

LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Michael Hatty as judge of the 44th Judicial Circuit Court, which serves Livingston County, for a term expiring January 1, 2011.  He replaces Judge Stanley Latreille who has resigned.
 
Hatty, of Brighton, most recently worked as an attorney in private practice.  He was formerly an attorney for Deerfield Township, as well as a business law instructor for Cleary College.  Hatty has participated as a moot court judge at the University of Michigan School of Law and in the National Endowment for the Arts "Big Read Campaign."  He is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7304 and attends St. Patrick Catholic Church.
 
Hatty earned his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University.
 
This appointment is not subject to disapproval by the Michigan Senate.
