Governor Granholm Announces Appointments

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the following appointments to the State Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Advisory Commission:

State Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board

Rebecca Bahar of Lansing, fundraising consultant for a personally-owned fundraising business.  Ms. Bahar is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 19, 2006.  She succeeds Pamela Posthumus whose term has expired.

Anita Fox of Okemos, attorney and shareholder for Fraser, Trebilcock, Davis & Dunlop, PC.  Ms. Fox is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 19, 2006.  She succeeds Yasmin Abdul-Karim whose term has expired.

Nancy Moody of East Lansing, director of state government affairs for GTE Energy.  Ms. Moody is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring December 19, 2006.  She succeeds Stephen Thomas, Jr. whose term has expired.  Ms. Moody is also designated to serve as chairperson of the board at the pleasure of the Governor. 

Governor’s Traffic Safety Advisory Commission

Edwin Tatem of West Bloomfield, highway engineer for the Macomb County Road Commission.  Mr. Tatem is appointed to represent local units of government for a term expiring May 27, 2006.  He succeeds Robert Morris.

All of the above appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
