LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of former Attorney General Frank J. Kelley to the Board of Ethics.
Kelley, of Lansing, served as Attorney General from 1961 to 1998. He currently serves as co-chair of the Land Use Leadership Council and is a member of the Mackinac Island State Park Commission.
“For 37 years, Frank Kelley approached every legal issue in Michigan with one question in mind: ‘What is the right thing to do?’ Frank’s commitment to ethical integrity has earned him the respect and admiration of Michigan’s citizens, its legal community, and its leadership in Lansing on both sides of the aisle,” Granholm said. “I look forward to having Frank Kelley, once again, serving the people of Michigan, this time as a member of the Board of Ethics.”
Kelley is appointed for a term expiring February 7, 2008. He succeeds Sheriff Thomas Kern whose term has expired. This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
